The following was taken from the Yorkshire Regiment website

Died 21 Nov 1918. He had enlisted at Stockton while living in Yarm. Niederzwehren Cem, Cassell, Germany

Yarm1914 believe that Joseph was born in 1881 to Joseph aged 37 and Martha Florence (nee Lascelles) aged 34 and lived in Railway Cottages,Dalton-on-Tees. He had 2 brothers, William Lascelles aged 12 and Arthur E aged 8 plus two sisters Mabel Mary aged 10 and Elsie A aged 5. By 1891 the family had moved to Greens Thorp in Dalton and William had become a servant at the White houshold at Uckerby Hall. Joseph was joined by two more sisters, Margaret J aged 8 and Bessie just born. In 1901 Joseph followed his eldest brother into service with the Roulledge family in Appleton Wiske. He married Hannah Bradley 5 years his senior in 1905. In 1911 they were living in Hills Yard with 2 daughters Mary Liz aged 3 and Gertrude Martha just born. Gurtrude Martha married Francis Rocks in 1930 and died in 2005. Joseph served with a number of units 1/5th Durh. L.I. 3113 Pte., attd 3rd Corps. 3113 C. & M. Coy.
